En meinannut millään keksiä, minkälaiset kynnet haluaisin tehdä #ablecaw14-haasteen teemasta Play That Song. Ajatukseni oli käyttää jotain laulua inspiraationa ja kuvittaa sen sanat, mutta en vain keksinyt mitään. Lopulta valitsin helpon tien ulos ja päätin yrittää etsiä laulun sanoista vain värejä - ja siihen sopi erinomaisesti päässäni tuota pohdintaa tehdessäni taukoamatta soinut Joni Mitchellin Big Yellow Taxi. Laulun sanoissa mainitaan kyllä keltainen taksi, mutta enemmän ajattelin värejä valitessani vihreää, joka edustaa puita, ja harmaata, joka edustaa asfalttia. I had a really hard time trying to come up with an idea for #ablecaw14 theme Play That Song. I originally wanted to find inspiration from a song and paint the lyrics on my nails somehow. This turned out to be difficult in terms of getting an inspiration and I took the easy way out - I decided to pick only the colors of the manicure from a song. And for this purpose the song in my head - Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi - was perfect. A yellow taxi is mentioned in the lyrics, but when I was choosing the colours, I thought more about green, which represents trees, and grey, which represents a pavement or a parking lot. If you don't know the song, check the lyrics I copied in the end. 

Lakkasin kaikkiin kynsiin pohjalle yhden kerroksen Formula X:n Extraordinarya, jonka päälle asettelin suoran kynsivinyylin kullekin kynnelle. Näiden toiselle puolelle lakkasin Essencen Love is in the airia ja toiselle puolelle Isadoran Ocean Drivea. Molempia meni vähän vaihtelevasti 1-2 kerrosta, Isadoraa taisi enimmäkseen riittää yksi kerros. Näistä tuli mukavan simppelit ja raikkaat kynnet, vaikka ne eivät kauan kynsilläni saaneet ollakaan. Laulua nämä kuvaavat ehkä hyvin pintapuolisesti - siinähän on aika kepoinen tunnelma, mutta tärkeä sanoma. Nämä kuvaavat nyt lähinnä sitä tunnelmaa :D

I strated with one coat of Formula X Extraordinary. The stripe I made with nail vinyls by painting Essence Love is in the air on one side and Isadora Ocean Drive on the other side. I used 1-2 coats of each, Isadora covered mostly with one coat. These turned out to be nice and simple - and very fresh - nails, even though I did not end up keeping them for a very long time. I don't think these represent the song very well - it has a light feeling but an important message, so these nails only represent lightness. :D
