Pattern from a napkin

tiistaina, helmikuuta 03, 2015

Kylläpä tekivät Annie, Katjamaria ja Mirka tempun, kun  kevään The Finnish(able) Nail Art Challenge Spring 2015:n julkaisivat (ks. esim. Katjamarian postaus aiheesta)... Syksyn haasteesta minulla on vielä julkaisematta seuraavat kynnet: Familiar Pattern, Love This Technique, The One That Never Got On Nails, Trick or Treat ja My Blog.

Oh, I'm in trouble now - since AnnieKatjamaria and Mirka published the new Finnish(able) Nail Art Challenge Spring 2015 (check Annie's post about it here in English)... I had thought that I maybe shouldn't take another big challenge project (since the last one is still unfinished...), but it looks so cool that I might just have to take up that challenge as well. The challenge begins next week and before that I would still need to finish the #ablecaw14 challenge as well! To be honest, I don't think I can, but I'll just keep the two challenges running simultaneously for a while. I still haven't published manicures with following themes: Familiar Pattern, Love This Technique, The One That Never Got On Nails, Trick or Treat and My Blog. And of course the notorious Jingle Bells - I don't really know what to do with that one... But here is the first of the last, a manicure with a Familiar Pattern!

I found the familiar pattern from a napkin, though a similar polka dot pattern is very common - and familiar - in general. I had planned on trying to paint the dots with a dotting tool, but I was in too much of a hurry to even try - instead I stamped the dots from MoYou London plate nr 19 from The Pro Collection. It is very handy to have a polka dot stamping image like that... The napkin is fuchsia so I chose to paint my nails with Essie Watermelon. It was again impossible to get it right in the photos - no matter what I did, the shade was too warm in my opinion. I have to admit that it does look coral in some lights even in nature, but I still think that Watermelon's core shade is fuchsia. It was pretty close to the colour of my napkin anyway - and these nails turned out nice and cheerful!

Kynsilläni / on my nails:

Base coat: Trind Nail Repair
Colour: Essie Watermelon
Stamping colour: Konad White
Stamping plate: MoYou London The Pro nr 19
Top coat: Konad Top Coat

Huomenna jatketaan #ablecaw14-kynsien kanssa - katsotaan, miten pitkälle pääsen ennen uuden haasteen alkua!

Tomorrow I'll post yet another #ablecaw14 manicure - let's see how far I get before the start of the new challenge! Thanks for reading,

Helmi
