The final spurt - and it's Finnish(ed)! #ablecaw14

sunnuntaina, helmikuuta 08, 2015

Viikon kiireiden takia en ehtinyt postailla tekemiäni haastekynsiä aikaisemmin tällä viikolla, joten jotta saisin ennen kevään The Finnish(able) Nail Art Challengen alkua syksyn haasteen valmiiksi, tässä teille kilometripostaus, joka sisältää kokonaista kolmet haastekynnet kuvineen ja selityksineen. Varoituksen sanana, että luvassa on melkoisen pitkä postaus...

I was very busy this week so I did not have time to post the challenge nails I did this week during the week, so here they come all at once! I really wanted to finish the Finnish(able) Nail Art Challenge AW2014 before the start of the new challenge, so this post is looooong, with three manicures and explanations. Here we go!

Ensimmäiset kynnet loppukolmikosta ovat kynnet teemalla "Love This Technique". Leimauslakkana käytin Essien harmaata Over the Edgeä ja leimauslaattana on minkäs muunkaan kuin MoYou Londonin The Pro -sarjan laatta nro 02.

The first nails from my final trio represent the theme "Love This Technique". I love two techniques over all others - and one big reason for this might be that the nails I do with these techniques tend to turn out nice and it does not take me forever to finish the manicures. These techniques are gradient nails and stamping, which I combined in this manicure. Tehcnically the nails are ok, though the stamping could be better, but the overall result is somehow meh... The colours are a bit boring together, but I did not have time to do anything different anymore once I realised it. The base colour is Dance Legend Pine Bark and the gradient is done with Essie Bordeaux. The stamping colour is Essie Over the Edge and the image is from MoYou London The Pro Collection plate nr 02.

With the next manicure I'm introducing two polishes "That Never Got On Nails": Dance Legend Lebedushka and Zoya Sunshine. They are both gorgeous textured polishes and I don't even know why I hadn't tried them before this. Lebedushka is a gorgeous mint with silver shimmer. Since it is quite sheer, I started with one coat of Essie Fashion Playground, which was a good idea. I didn't have much time for the gradient, which unfortunately shows in the pictures. I actually ended up painting one quick coat of Sunshine over the gradient for next day at work, because the messy gradient irritated me too much. But both polishes were lovely and I hope to be wearing them again soon!

Viimeisinä #ablecaw-haasteen kynsinä esittelen "hiukan" väärään vuodenaikaan Halloween-kynnet teemalla "Trick or Treat". Toinen kuvio on myöskin samasta Gothic-sarjan laatasta.

The last manicure for #ablecaw14 is a Halloween theme manicure - and I know it is an odd moment for a such theme. I wanted to do these nails anyway, because I had an idea about icy sugar skull styled nails and I wanted to use the skull stamping image from MoYou London Gothic Collection plate nr 05. In the end the image was a bit tricky because it was too big for my nails except for my thumbs AND it was tricky to get to the stamper as whole... Almost the first time I had these kind of problems with MoYou London plates. When I finally got it on my thumb as whole - more or less - I didn't dare to try it again even though it's not very straight. The other image is from the same plate and it was a lot easier to stamp. The stamping colour is a new polish (for me) from MoYou London - a stamping polish called Turuqoise Mint. It was very easy to stamp with and I love the colour! These did not really turn out the way I imagined, but they are nice anyway!

Well, here they were! It took me quite a while to write this post but at least I finished the challenge! I will come back to this autumn's challenge once more with a collage of all the challenge manicures, but other than that it is going to be a whole new challenge on the blog from tomorrow on. Which of these nails were your favorite? Thanks for reading,

Helmi
