Uusi haaste, uudet kynnet! Kevät starttaa blogissa nyt, kun syksyn kynsihaaste on koostepostausta myöten taputeltu valmiiksi. Tykkäsin kovasti syksyn haasteesta, vaikka se ajoin aiheuttikin hieman kiireen tunnetta. Ehkä olen hölmö, kun hyvin kiireisestä normaalielämästä (siis kynsimaailman ulkopuolisesta elämästä…) huolimatta haluan lähteä mukaan myös kevään haasteeseen, mutta jotain se varmasti kertoo haasteen hauskuudesta. Kiitos siis jälleen Annie, Katjamaria ja Mirka hienosta haasteesta, tästä se taas lähtee! 

New challenge, new manicures! The spring has arrived to the blog, as the autumn’s nail art challenge is finally finished (check the recap here). I really liked the challenge, although I sometimes felt a bit pressured to publish new manicures according to a determined schedule. Maybe I’m stupid to start this challenge again despite my very busy normal life (that is my life outside nail polishes and the blog…), but at least it tells something about the challenge! So thank you again Annie, Katjamaria and Mirka  for a cool challenge. Here we go! 

Haaste toimii tutulla kaavalla, eli joka viikolle on luvassa kaksi teemaa, jotka saa toteuttaa haluamassaan järjestyksessä. Ensimmäisen viikon teemat ovat ”Will You Be My Valentine?” ja ”Something Other Than Pink”. Koska ystävänpäivä koittaa vasta viikonloppuna, päätin aloittaa jostain muusta kuin pinkistä. Kynsille pääsi häikäisevän hieno uusi mattalakkani, nimittäin Formula X:n sähkönsininen Prophecy. Prophecy on Formula X:n Brushed Metallics -kokoelmasta ja se on kyllä niin hieno, ettei mitään rajaa! Oma swatch-kuvani ei oikein tee upealle lakalle oikeutta, joten tsekatkaa paremmat swatchit koko kokoelmasta vaikka täältä. Tämä ei muuten ole ainoa lakka, jonka hankin kyseisestä kokolemasta, joten lisää luvassa jossain vaiheessa. :)

The challenge is similar to the previous one, in so that there are two themes for each challenge week which can be realised in whichever order. The first week’s themes are ”Will You Be My Valentine?” and ”Something Other Than Pink”. Since the Valentine’s Day is not until weekend, I decided to start with something other than pink – and it’s electric blue! I decided to try my new matte polish from Formula X Brushed Metallics collection, namely Prophecy. It is a totally gorgeous shade of electric blue – I just love it! My picture does not really do it justice, so please check better swatch pictures (and for the other polishes from the collection too) for example in here. This is by the way not the only polish I purchased from that collection so stay tuned. :)

Mattaisen Prophecyn päälle leimasin aaltokuviota niin ikään uudella lakalla, China Glazen Scandalous Shenanigansilla. Leimausjäljestä tuli juuri sellainen kuin toivoinkin – hienovarainen, koska värit ovat hyvin samanlaiset, mutta kuitenkin erottuva mattaisen pohjavärin päältä. Olen kyllä sanalla sanoen niin innostunut tästä kevään mattatrendistä, kun kovasti tykkään mattalakoista!

I decorated the nails by stamping waves with another new polish, China Glaze Scandalous Shenanigans. The image turned out just the way I wanted - it is subtle, because the shades are very close to each other, but you can see it because the textures are different. I have to say that I'm very excited about this springs matte trend, I just looooove matte nails!
